Bcurrent inspires movement practitioners to connect, collaborate and communicate, introducing the study of integrated movement therapies into the chiropractic world and beyond. This 12 CE-hour workshop features lectures by three passionate movement practitioners.

Introduction to Bcurrent and Integrated Movement Therapies (2 hours) with Dr. Sonn Bcurrent exposes doctors to different movement disciplines that all focus on sound anatomy, good alignment and correct biomechanics. Doctors with anatomy-based information have the ability to educate patients and enhance the effects of current chiropractic techniques, and by integrating this new information in treatment they can enable patients to discern wise movement patterns. Individual assessment, diagnosis and sound biomechanics in all movement programs will ultimately limit the risk of injury and increase effective body performance.

Functional Movement and Anatomy (6 hours) with Dr. Christina Ippolito will provide you with the knowledge and tools to better direct your assessments, treatment and movement protocol. She will touch on concepts related to the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine, proper hip movement, core function, shoulder and scapular stability, and gait. Each topic will have a lecture and information session, as well as a hands-on movement assessment session. Each segment will touch on the biomechanics and practical assessment of different areas of the body.

The Psoas & Pilates-based Exercises (2 hours) with Kelly Kane will explore all the traditional concepts of structure and function, create a new schematic for understanding the psoas and learn real tools to help those you teach achieve balance in their low backs and hips.

In Spinal Decompression & Pilates-based exercises (2 hours) with Kelly Kane, we will look at the compressive forces that affect the low back and look at some real tools to facilitate decompression in the lumbo-sacral region, reviewing the basics of pelvic assessment and explore a protocol of Pilates-based exercises to correct pelvic imbalances.
